Amie & James | Yorkshire wedding barn

We’re just getting back into blogging after having our busiest year yet! Not only have we shot lots of beautiful weddings all over the UK and beyond. We actually got married ourselves and moved house all within the space to two months! So.. We’re looking back at some of the lovely weddings we photographed last year starting with blogging them first. Amie & James’ Yorkshire Wedding barn wedding was absolutely beautiful. The Yorkshire wedding barn itself is a stunning venue which caters for indoor and outdoor ceremonies depending on what kind of wedding you’re looking for. Amie & James’ day was a crisp winters day in-between Christmas and New Year, It felt very cosy and had hints of Christmas/New Year vibes within the decor. Also with a lot of people being off work, everyone felt like they could really let their hair down!

They were blessed with amazing low light with winter sun bursting through on their wedding portraits. The venue was full of stunning foliage and berry centre pieces, and the bridesmaids Christmassy red dresses complimented the groomsmen tweedy blue suits so nicely.

Towards the evening at this lovely Yorkshire wedding venue, Amie & James had mentioned they wanted to do something with smoke bombs, so as we like shooting creatively with flashes in the evening, we decided to use the smoke bomb in the dark. We lit up the smoke with two different coloured flashes. We loved the result and had such a great time photographing people throwing some shapes in the evening on the dance floor!
