New York, New York
Evening everyone, this year has been absolutely amazing for us & to top it all off we took a trip across the pond to New York over New Year. Having spent 7 & a half hours on a flight to the US we weren’t too pleased to find it pouring with rain but tried to make the most of our first day there. We went to the world famous FAO Schwarz to see the Zoltar fortune teller & piano from the film Big, whilst also designing our very own muppet. Other attractions included Tiffany & Co (Anii bought some shiny things), the Rockerfellar Centre (the view is amazing), Coney Island (home to the film The Warriors), Bloomingdales (spent some money), Mast Brothers chocolate (vimeo them), Main Drag Music (Chris bought a Mandolin), the Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park, The American Museum of Natural History, The Skyline Diner (best breakfast ever), The High Line (a disused railway walkway) & Katz’s Deli (as seen on Man Vs. Food). We also went to B&H photo, for us this is somewhere we’ve always wanted to go, the shop is unreal. They have everything a photographer could ever need & is all available to try & test. All purchases are then put onto a conyeyor belt in the ceiling of the store and they all make their way down to the checkout for you to collect & pay for, it’s nuts!
Now obviously the main idea was for us to spend New Year in Times Square for the ball drop, I can’t say this was an enjoyable experience, averaging temperatures of -2°C for the majority of the night, but defintely amazing & something we’ll always remember. We had such a fantastic time & saw/ate so many different & wonderful things. Unfortunately our flight was delayed due to snow by 7 hours, but I think we got off fairly lightly compared to what the rest of the country currently looks like. Here are a few of our favourite photos from the trip & we’ll be posting a video really soon too
