Hayley & Nick | The Barns East Yorkshire

“It really is difficult to articulate our thanks to Chris and Anii. Quite simply they are the best of the best. Our photographs are going to be such treasured memories for years to come and we cannot think of anyone who would have done a better job. Firstly they’re wonderful people. They are professional, approachable and a real helping hand on the day. Their creativity is second to none, capturing every detail, highlight and essence of your special day. We are both rather camera shy and have never felt completely comfortable in front of the lens but Chris and Anii instantly brushed this fear away on our pre wedding shoot even managing to charm our rather sassy sausage dogs! On the day Chris & Anii made us feel completely at ease and it really was like having two other friends there. We are so thrilled with our photographs and our wedding film is beyond perfect. We couldn’t recommend a better pair to capture your special day! 

After photographing Hayley & Nick’s engagement session earlier in the year, we knew we were going to have such a fun time at their wedding!

We couldn’t wait to photograph a wedding at The Barns East Yorkshire, it looked such a fun and quirky venue with the most gorgeous barns and outside courtyard area. Hayley and Nick started the day in separate Airbnb’s that were across the road from each other (and not too far from the venue!). It was perfect and made for some sneaky looks/shots out the window as the guys left in their Land Rover heading to The Barns.

Hayley’s dress from Chloe Jane Bridal wear was absolutely stunning and all her bridesmaids were in tears over how amazing she looked! Hayley smiled throughout all the morning and didn’t seem like she was nervous at all. It made the morning so chilled, and I loved the moment Hayley gave her bridesmaids presents and they all started crying all at once, queue burst mode on the camera!

As Hayley was just about to walk down the aisle to Nick, an unwelcome gust of wind came and her veil flew out! Luckily her dad managed to catch it, (it was all caught on video). We loved that Hayley and her dad laughed about it all the way down the aisle. The veil didn’t go back in all day!

They said their vows to each other, signed the register, and then came out of the barn as husband and wife, showered with confetti and a massive cheer. We did a couple of family photos before having a walk around the venue and using the barns as beautiful rustic backdrops for their portraits.

After the reception the speeches were so funny, and also emotional! – we used Hayley’s speech as part of the video (we love it when brides do speeches!)

Their food was so tasty – especially the desserts – that cheesecake… and as we got to the first dance, Hayley & Nick had chosen to have a confetti cannon for during their song, which is one of our favourite things to photograph!

What a wedding! The guys are such a lovely couple and we can’t wait to meet up for dog walks once this lockdown has lifted.
