Fiona and Matt | Yorkshire Tipi Wedding

The best thing about organising your own Yorkshire tipi wedding is that it’s a true reflection of you as a couple. This is even more apparent when you completely DIY it, just as Fiona & Matt did! It took place in the hills of the Dales in a village called Arncliffe, a quintessential village straight off a postcard.

Fiona got ready at her parents home a short drive away, surrounded by her friends & family it was such a fun filled morning with smiles all round. Matt got ready far closer, at the venue in fact. They’d actually hired the house & grounds from a family friend, making it incredibly personal, bespoke & very special.

Fiona arrived in the most amazing stretched beetle, dappled in trees and beautiful light, it was so romantic! With a church ceremony, they both laughed and smiled as they saw each other, moving on towards their vows and some wonderful readings. They then made a procession through the village arriving at the venue to be greeted by Back Chat Brass. They set the mood and made everyone smile.

With their tipi, it was adorned with various gin named tables, personalised Love Heart sweets, and beautiful country garden flowers in the centre. The speeches were amazing, including one from the bride herself! With a quickly dropping sunset, we saw an opportunity to take the couple to the highest point around for some incredible portraits (at least we think so anyway!). The hills overlooked the village and saw the sun frame the couple against the Yorkshire Dales, it was one of those pinch yourself moments!

Heading back down the valley, the party ensued. The ceilidh band Aluinn got everyone on their feet, and made sure everyone was putting their best foot forward to learn the various dances. It was such a fun wedding to photograph, and one that we thoroughly enjoyed both on the day, and after editing it. That’s the thing, we get to relive all of these weddings again, and that isn’t a bad thing!
